Surfer Dude?

Never judge a book by its cover or a guy by his flip-flops. This was the lesson affirmed the day I met real estate developer and former surf-shop owner, Tim Shepard. I was leading a 'real estate walking tour' and there were some suited up, named, heavy hitters on tour with me. You'd recognize their last names from Real Estate signs and Crains. But This dude "Tim" was not one of them. He hung by the back of the crowd, hoodie down, and humble.

By the end of the tour, I learned he was a sailor too. We grew up in the same town in the summers. His uncle knew my Dad. His Mom was an artist.

He was one of my long lost brothers, who was destined to own and transform 2 of the largest buildings in downtown, and be a pivotal force in the soul shaping of what Pontiac could become in the next 100 years.
