At 20 years young, I read "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda. I'd like to say it was life changing, but I clearly hadn't lived enough life at that point to make changes. On New Year's Day I got to pray and meditate on the cliffs of the Pacific Ocean by Yogi Yogananda's amazing Solana Beach compound.
Its open to the public, free to enjoy and in my opinion, there is a spiritual vibe here akin to The Vatican, Jerusalem, Machu Picchu, Ankgor Wat or Sedona... How do I know? Because I went these places too.
On this New Year morning, I was reminded of advice I was also given at a young age... 90% of success (or knowledge) is just SHOWING UP. I've since wanted to add to this: Showing up, On time, Properly Attired, With an Open Mind and Heart, Being Grateful, while asking the question(s)...
Happy New Year!
